Saudi GDP falls 3.8% annually in third quarter despite quarterly rebound
Preliminary figures show non-oil growth alongside a steep annual decline in oil activity.
Saudi Arabia’s real GDP fell 3.8% in the third quarter of 2026 compared with a year earlier, according to preliminary GASTAT figures released Sunday and examined in Monday’s reporting.
Oil activity declined 20.4% annually, while non-oil activity grew 1.9% and government activity fell 2.7%. On a different comparison, seasonally adjusted GDP rose 1.3% from the second quarter. The quarterly rebound therefore coexists with an annual contraction; these flash estimates remain subject to revision.
