Le ministre libanais des Finances, Yassine Jaber, a rencontré la directrice générale du FMI, Kristalina Georgieva, à Bangkok en marge des réunions du FMI et de la Banque mondiale, selon l'Agence de presse qatarie.

Il a réaffirmé l'engagement du Liban en faveur des réformes et de la stabilité macroéconomique et son objectif d'un programme soutenu par le FMI pour la relance, la reconstruction et la croissance. Il a demandé l'aide des deux institutions pour mobiliser des fonds humanitaires, d'urgence et de reconstruction.

Aucun accord sur un programme n'a été annoncé. La Banque mondiale prévoit une contraction de 6,4 % de l'économie libanaise en 2026 en raison de la guerre.
