El primer ministro Nawaf Salam pidió al ministro francés Jean-Noël Barrot que se mantenga una presencia internacional en el sur, bajo una decisión del Consejo de Seguridad, con tareas de vigilancia y enlace, según Times of Israel y Türkiye Today.

El presidente Joseph Aoun pidió ayuda a Francia para evitar un vacío de seguridad, informó Arab News. El mandato de la FINUL termina el 31 de diciembre de 2026.
