Reports: Hezbollah begins housing-aid payments in Nabatieh
AFP and RFI report a first instalment for displaced families; the funding source remains unspecified.
Hezbollah began distributing a first housing-aid instalment in the Nabatieh region on November 2, according to AFP and independent reporting by RFI’s Beirut correspondent Paul Khalifeh. RFI describes cash payments at two centres.
The programme, announced in October, promises annual assistance of $12,000 outside Beirut and its southern suburbs and $14,000 there, paid in four instalments. These are announced entitlements, not amounts already received in full. The funding source and total beneficiary count were not specified.
