Grand Egyptian Museum marks first anniversary with new evening light show
November 2 reporting describes the launch of Eternal Sun on Sunday, November 1.
The Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza marked the first anniversary of its official opening by launching the evening light show “Eternal Sun” on November 1. Arab News reported the launch on November 2; Al-Shorouk separately covered the anniversary event on November 1.
The 35-minute experience uses light, music and storytelling in the Grand Hall to present Egyptian civilization. Arab News says it is offered after regular visiting hours in Arabic and English, except on Saturdays and Wednesdays.
In its event report, Al-Shorouk quoted museum chief Ahmed Ghoneim describing an effort to offer visitors a fuller experience of Egyptian heritage. Separately, former museum director Tarek Tawfik told Arab News that interest in the Tutankhamun galleries remained strong. This is a new anniversary programme, rather than a new opening of the museum itself. The photograph is an archival museum view from December 2025 and does not show the new light performance.
