President Joseph Aoun told Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy that Israel has failed to comply with the Lebanon–Israel framework agreement and that southern Lebanon still faces daily violations, according to LBCI and Anadolu.

Aoun argued the violations would not achieve their aims and would instead strengthen Lebanese attachment to their land and rights.

He said Lebanon remains committed to a diplomatic solution, which he called far less costly than a devastating war whose price southerners have paid heavily. "It is time for Lebanon to have some respite," he said.

He welcomed Arab League efforts to help Lebanon through the current period. L'Orient Today reported that the Arab League backs Lebanon's negotiations with Israel.
