Sidon shelter attack prompts investigation, local reports say
October 30 reporting described a dog killed and others injured at a shelter on municipal grounds.
An attack on dogs at a shelter in Sidon prompted an investigation, according to separate reports published by Sidonianews and Elnashra on October 30. The incident occurred on Thursday, October 29, at the shelter supervised by Lucia El Baba in the municipality’s Sidoun vehicle compound near the municipal stadium.
El Baba told Sidonianews that one dog died and two others suffered neck wounds and received veterinary treatment. Elnashra separately reported one dog killed and two surviving after their wounds were stitched. Both described a knife or sharp-instrument attack.
Megaphone had reported the attack on October 29 through activist Ghina Nahfawi, with a different preliminary injury total. The October 30 reports described investigative work and anticipated municipal legal action. They did not establish a judicial finding of responsibility. This account preserves those reporting dates and makes no claim of a new attack or a later court outcome. The 2019 photograph shows Sidon’s shoreline for geographic context, not the shelter.
